Visiting Diniwid Beach in Boracay

Vacationing in Boracay could leave you dumbfounded and not sure what to do first since there are so many spots to see and activities to enjoy. The star of the show is indisputably the 4-km long White Beach. Going to Boracay has even become near-synonymous to hitting its waters and sands. But a mere few minutes away by foot from this ever-popular location, Diniwid Beach has something to offer that White Beach can’t – privacy and serenity.

This other beach is strategically located in a small cove that cannot be accessed by everybody. It is a 200-meter stretch of white sand that is exclusively for the enjoyment of its guests. What makes it so exclusive can be found in its available accommodations. The resorts and hotels here are expensive. There are about 600,000 foreign travelers visiting Boracay each year and the first spot they often see is White Beach, where they shall find three boat stations. Ask any Boracay native which station has the most luxurious hotels, restaurants, and establishments overall and he will surely point you the first station’s way. Diniwid Beach, of course, is right at the tip of Station 1.

The upscale beach resorts in this place include Artista Boracay, Nami Boracay, Microtel, Boracay Spider House and Boracay Westcove. Because there are fewer guests here than in White Beach, you can expect to enjoy a wider portion of the white sand beach all to yourself. Despite this, it is still easy to get to it on board one of the island’s many tricycles. The tricycle, a motorized tricycle-taxi, is the island’s main tool of transport. As you arrive in Boracay aboard an outrigger boat from the main island of Aklan, all you need to do is take a tricycle ride to Diniwid. How much money shall you shell out for the ride? A mere Php20 (USD0.45). Never has the actual journey to exclusivity been so cheap, one might say.

Quality and luxury are the reigning keywords when it comes to most of Diniwid’s services. While it promises far more peaceful sunsets and strolls on the sand than White Beach does, it must still be admitted that most of the parties and famed Boracay events take place on the latter’s shores. This should not be a problem, however, because travelers with accommodations in Diniwid have the edge. While not all White Beach visitors get to go to Diniwid Beach, Diniwid guests may easily go to White Beach to take part in the fun. They may also take a leisurely walk to D’Mall at Station 2 to see the row of shops, boutiques and restaurants that are sure to make their Boracay experience ten times more exciting. Foreign tourists will have a grand time haggling with local vendors for the best souvenirs, especially if they decided to try the local cuisine and visit D’Talipapa as well. With all these attractions so close to it, Diniwid Beach is clearly the location for those who want to mingle in the party while having the option of removing themselves to a more private and select place in the proximity.
